Just a few weeks ago, we ended a teaching series called “Speed Trap” where we discussed the importance of slowing down in a culture that’s constantly telling us to go faster. In response to this, we’re hosting a FREE family friendly event on Sunday night, Nov 12, that will hopefully give families a chance to intentionally slow down and have some fun. You can find all the details about “Skate and Bounce Night” by going to www.skateandbouncehalls.com.
In the meantime, I want to challenge you to think about how you can get involved in this event. Ultimately, the “win” for the event isn’t the number of people who show up; instead, we want to be focused on the connections, conversations, and interactions we’ll get to have with families from the community. Our hope is that by creating a fun atmosphere at a “non-churchy” facility that we will be able to connect with families in a non-threatening, no-agenda kind of way. Here’s how you can do that…
- Pray! Ask God to help us demonstrate the love of Jesus in all we do. Ask Him to direct people to the event. Ask God to lead us to naturally connect with people in a way that lets them know we genuinely care about them and their family with no strings attached.
- Help us spread the word. Take some flyers this Sunday morning and pass them out to people you know. When you see social media promos, “like” those promos and even share them out for others to see.
- Come to the event and connect with people you don’t know. Since our church is hosting the event, we want to connect with people in a relaxed, natural way, so come ready to interact with people from the community.
- Volunteer. We’ll need a few extra hands to help with the inflatables and registration. If you’re willing to help out in this way, then just send an email to donna@thegroveknox.org
