In November, we celebrated the new additions of two staff members to our leadership team. We are excited about how God will use both Jimbo and David to increase our ministry impact in the Halls community and help more people take their next steps of faith with Jesus.
Here’s more info on Jimbo…
Jimbo was born and raised in the Halls community. After graduating from Halls in 1999, he went on to play college baseball and lived out his dream of playing at the University of Tennessee. However, something was always was missing from his life. It wasn’t until he answered the call to enter ministry that life had purpose and meaning like never before as he fulfilled his calling to serve God. There is a deep passion for discipleship in Jimbo, to share the gospel, to love on people and build relationships with students to help them find their true identity in Christ.
Jimbo has degrees in ministry from Johnson University and a masters from Campbellsville University and is currently in classes at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to The Grove, Jimbo has served as student pastor at two different churches. Jimbo and his wife, Melissa, who is an elementary school teacher, have a family of 6 with 4 children: Makenzi, Fischer, Coleman, and Brooks. As a family, they enjoy the outdoors and camping and all kinds of sports… And of course, GO VOLS!!
Here’s more info on David…
David brings humble yet focused leadership style to our team and church. His passion for seeing the church worship Jesus together is quickly noticeable as you spend time with him. David is a talented vocalist, and we are blessed to have him leading The Grove into our next season of worshipping Jesus during our Sunday morning services. David and his wife Megan are newly married as of September 2018. David is originally from South Carolina, but moved to Tennessee many years ago. He enjoys playing volleyball, and he bleeds orange, but it’s a Clemson shade of orange rather than UT… We won’t hold that against him though.
